Value Typecon
CONFERENCE BRANDING | 2018
This 15th Annual Typecon Conference is based around the usage and building of modular typography. I focus the breakdown of what type is made of which is basic shapes. The concept of Value lies in what we consider the most valuable part of a letter form and how we decide what shape can represent it.
I wanted the attendees to think about the value of every single decision they make as a designer and what is important to them. This conference is a way to celebrate the thoughts and reasonings behind the design solutions developed all across the world.
Program Book
Contrasting colors are used to emphasize the difference in value of color. Working on a 6 column grid with each page being 5.5 in by 10 in, created a small enough book that can easily carried throughout the program.
The font Matrix II has a modular weight where the hairline strokes are lost entirely. I incorporated these modular shapes throughout the design using pattern motifs and shape blocks to highlight information.
Pocket Guide
Each attendee would receive a name tag which opens up into a pocket guide. This makes it easy for the user to quickly reference for information about the schedule and map. This is a basic 3 in by 4 in name tag and is saddle stitch binding with a staple.
Postcard
This postcard is a short preview to the audience of what the conference theme will be surrounded by. It would be sent out a year before the conference and handed out at the 14th annual conference.
