Value Typecon
CONFERENCE BRANDING | 2018
This 15th Annual Typecon Conference is based around the usage and building of modular typography. I focus the breakdown of what type is made of which is basic shapes. The concept of Value lies in what we consider the most valuable part of a letter form and how we decide what shape can represent it. ​​​​​​​
I wanted the attendees to think about the value of every single decision they make as a designer and what is important to them. This conference is a way to celebrate the thoughts and reasonings behind the design solutions developed all across the world. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
Program Book
Contrasting colors are used to emphasize the difference in value of color. Working on a 6 column grid with each page being 5.5 in by 10 in, created a small enough book that can easily carried throughout the program. 
The font Matrix II has a modular weight where the hairline strokes are lost entirely. I incorporated these modular shapes throughout the design using pattern motifs and shape blocks to highlight information. 
Pocket Guide
Each attendee would receive a name tag which opens up into a pocket guide. This makes it easy for the user to quickly reference for information about the schedule and map. This is a basic 3 in by 4 in name tag and is saddle stitch binding with a staple.
Postcard
This postcard is a short preview to the audience of what the conference theme will be surrounded by. It would be sent out a year before the conference and handed out at the 14th annual conference.
